kau adalah seorang penyair biasa
di tengah masyarakat yang di ambang binasa
namun dari selatan kau terima perutusan
berita kemunculan nabi akhir zaman
di tanah Aqabah kau berjanji setia
menjunjung tauhid dengan apa saja cara
lidah penamu menjadi panah berbisa
senjatamu yang paling utama
dengan syairmu, kau perjuangkan agama
dengan puisimu, kau buat Nabi gembira
demi cinta, kau rela berkorban apa saja
jiwa, harta, airmata, jasad dan nyawa
di Badar, di Uhud, kau ada bersama
membangkitkan semangat para perwira
namun di medan peperangan terakhir
dugaanmu yang paling getir
di tengah kekalutan
engkau laungkan,
"Kemenangan atau syahid!"
kausaksikan teman-temanmu gugur satu persatu
dalam pertempuran yang sungguh meruntun kalbu
tibalah masa untuk kau sambut panji-panji amanah
engkau gembira rela menjunjung titah
lalu kau bersyair, didengar semua
membangkitkan semangat para perwira
di depanmu musuh beratus ribu
tidak kau gentarkan lagi
tujuanmu satu
redha Tuhanmu:
kemenangan atau syahid!
